The more I allow my heart to realize its loved, the more I desire to love, and when I love, my heart feels complete and whole. Every emotion that competes with that love starts to become weakened inside of me and more of a memory than a close companion. Im never happier and more at rest inside of myself than when I lean into that place. For me, to accept love is to be vulnerable, weak and brave. To give love, is to be vulnerable, weak and brave. Thats beauty, this is what grace is to me.  My prayer is that I live in this place of weakness and bravery to let love flood in, pouring into the hearts of every living soul around me.  Loving is my favorite.

This little nugget of mine, hasnt been still since he turned 3 weeks old. Hes standing on his own now and trying to take steps (if he isnt speed crawling down the hallways). Seriously, he started crawling at 4.5 months, guys. Crazy. Kael was always content to lounge and be carried, but Cedar has been planning his first triathlon for months, I swear. ha! These pictures were taken at my parents house, a couple of months ago. My moms cute red toes were a bit of an obsession for little C. haha. So precious. 

Oh little bug, I love you and your sweet little wiggly soul. Im not going to try and stop you or wish youd slow down. Ill always be your biggest fan and sideline cheerleader, as you pass me full speed ahead on the sidelines.

Your bright little soul has brought so much light into my heart. When I kiss your sweet cheeks and look into your blue eyes, I can feel so much goodness. Watching you sleep is kinda like a drug to me...youre simply addicting. I love you more than I thought possible. But, knowing my heart the way I do, and even the way I dont quite yet...I know theres so much more love to happen between you and me and that makes me so excited. Im so thankful for you sweet boy. People say all the time that children are a gift, but you really and truly are a gift to me more than Ive ever understood the word to mean. Im so glad you came exactly when you did, my little miracle. You are the meaning of "new" to me.

There is a unique excitement that I have when we spend time together and I think about all the wonders you havent experienced yet. There are trees waiting for you to climb them, snowmen for you to build and ice cream for you to taste. There are knees to be scraped from fun adventures and silly things for you and your brother to laugh at. Your eyes will sparkle the first time you realize you can walk all by yourself. The feeling you get in your heart when youve comforted someone you love will be thrilling. I think that will be one of your gifts in life, because thats who you have been to be from the moment I first felt you dance in my tummy. So much love is waiting for you Cedar, so much love. And my one and only goal and dream in life is for you and your brother to know it as yours. My prayer countless times a day is Lord, more than anything, let my boys know they are loved.

Right now you are next to me, dreaming asleep...and your brother is antsy, trying to figure out what he wants from the moment. Your daddy is creating something lovely and now, I realize I havent even begun to understand what good means because, I feel it more today than I have in my entire life.  Sweet boy, thank you for being a kiss of healing to me. I cant wait to watch you discover and enjoy this journey.

This song below is the song I sang the entire time I was pregnant with you Cedar. Id sing it any time my heart felt happy or broken.  It still makes me bawl like a baby and smile, as I look at you here with me. You are my springtime and the sweet promise of Jesus making all things new.

Cedar Dov

cedar, cedar tree, sweet strength --dov, (pronounced as, "i dove into the lake") hebrew word for bear 

September 6th early in the morning at 5:03 am we partied it up as our second son, Cedar Dov Gatlyn was born!

 It was a crazy fast labor (I didnt even believe it was real labor for over half of the time, total denial! haha. But, Ill share more of his birth story a wee bit later.) I have to say, his birth was probably the most wonderful, redemptive and perfect time of my life and I cant wait to write his story down! There is so much goodness woven all throughout it.

We are home, resting and enjoying the early days as a family of four. I feel FANTASTIC, better than fabulous and my heart has expanded miles and miles, more than I thought it could. Round two as a new mom the second time around is so surreal and so much more of a peaceful transitioning time for me, its been so peaceful. Forest boy needs to go to bed now, so Im going to keep this entry short and sweet. I wanted to share a tiny snippet of celebration before writing the whole shebang down.
