post baby weight loss regime | 2015 Vacation Breakfast at the Beach

post baby weight loss regime

This year we decided to take a little tour of some of the top breakfast joints in the area close to our condo in Laguna Beach. I love a good breakfast – especially at a local dive – so we hit up the best places we could find as listed by Trip Adviser and Zomato (formally UrbanSpoon).

DONUT HOLE

First up was Donut Hole in Rosemary Beach. We loved Donut Hole in Destin, but I think we liked this new Donut Hole better. Probably because it was a much bigger restaurant and we had absolutely zero wait.

We actually almost didnt find the restaurant as it is so new that our GPS could not find it. Its not the same diner atmosphere as the Destin location, but it was still delicious food. Outside the restaurant were game areas including ping pong and a Donut Hole game (basically Corn Hole) so that you would have something to do if there was a wait.

I had a Seafood Omelet (which was fantastic), while Jack discovered the little jelly packets on the table and insisted on toast and pancakes at every breakfast place, and Daniel had a healthy Grilled Chicken Salad (it was noon after all).

When we paid our bill we all chose donuts from the donut case. They were excellent. We are definitely fans of Donut Hole (#4 breakfast place in Panama City Beach on Trip Advisor).

FATTY PATTYS

On Day Two of our trip, we went to Fatty Pattys for breakfast. The slogan for the restaurant is "For the little fatty patty in all of us." I thought the slogan was hilarious.

Great coffee and excellent breakfast. I had the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes with Eggs and Bacon, Daniel had a Chocolate Chip Waffle and Jack stuck with his pancakes and toast.

Our waitress told us to be sure to grab donuts at Thomas Donut & Snack Shop in Laguna Beach.

We all loved Fatty Pattys and would plan on going back if we were in the area (#3 breakfast place in Panama City Beach on Trip Advisor).

JESSES PLACE

On Day Three we tried Jesses Place. It is a family-owned diner in Panama City Beach.  They serve breakfast and are also a meat-and-three, serving food until 2pm.

Our waiter was the son of the owners and he was great. We had wonderful service, the food was good and he kept gushing over our two boys. Its not often you have a young man gush over kiddos.

Daniel had the Papas Breakfast, I tried The Classic and we stuck with getting Jack toast. All of which was delicious. We were the last to leave the diner and they never hurried us.

We are big fans of Jesses Place and glad we made the stop there (#1 breakfast place in Panama City Beach on Trip Advisor).

THOMAS DONUT & SNACK SHOP

Finally, on our last morning we grabbed a donut from Thomas Donut & Snack Shop as advised by our waitress at Fattys Pattys. She suggested that we arrive early to get a good donut before they ran out.

Daniel took Jack and they got a donut with sprinkles for Jack (of course), a chocolate glazed one for Daniel and I had a Key-Lime Custard Filled donut. They werent super fresh, but they were all delicious (#2 breakfast place in Panama City Beach on Trip Advisor).

We ended up trying the top 4 bakeries/breakast eateries in the Panama City Beach area and really liked all of them.

baby weight loss success stories | My Moms 60th

baby weight loss success stories

Last year I attempted to surprise my parents by going home with my brother for my dads 66th birthday. Unfortunately, my sister unknowingly spilled the beans and we arrived to happy, but not surprised parents.

This year my brother called me up to see if I wanted to go to our parents for my moms 60th birthday. Initially my reaction was, "Umm, I just had a baby Im not ready to travel yet."

But the more I thought about it, I decided it would be fun to surprise my parents (for real this time) and to be there to celebrate moms 60th. It helped that both Jack and Isaac do well in the car.

On the drive to Arkansas, it took us 9 hours. This involved three stops (including picking up my brother in Nashville), driving through three intense thunderstorms and one construction site in West Memphis. Thankfully the boys were troopers.

We arrived after my parents were in bed and somehow made it into the house without waking anyone up. The next morning Jack was up at 6am (uncharacteristic for him). I let him play games on my phone (on silent) until my parents were up.

It was worth the drive to see the look on my moms face when Jack ran down the hallway to say, "Happy Birthday!" to her. My folks had no idea we were there!

Jack had a blast on this visit – he ate blackberries that he helped pick straight from the garden, and he remembered getting to ride the little red wagon (he was 2 when we were last there!).

He also got to ride around on the lawnmower (without a blade) with my dad and they spent time building lincoln logs together.

We had a lovely, though short, visit. We celebrated with our familys traditional pistachio birthday cake. We also had a blackberry cobbler – that Jack helped make.

In addition to celebrating my moms 60th birthday, we also celebrated my parents 39th anniversary and my grandmas 94th birthday.

I am thankful that both of my boys have now met my grandma. It was amazing how much my grandma lit up whenever my boys came into her room to visit. She was over the moon about getting to hold Isaac. I think we really made her weekend.

Sunday morning we enjoyed homemade pancakes and another visit with my aunt and uncle. Hopefully next time my sister and her family can join us as well. They were definitely missed.

Our trip home was slightly shorter – only 8 hours of driving, three stops, no construction, and no storms.

Until next time...

6 week pregnancy weight loss reviews | Lula Lake Land Trust

6 week pregnancy weight loss reviews

For the first time in a very long time, we had a normal (to us) weekend. Daniel found out on Friday that he would actually have Saturday (his birthday) off. So we quickly made plans to take advantage of the fact that the Lula Lake Land Trust would be open.

Lula Lake is a conservation property that is open to the public two Saturdays a month. With six miles of trails for hiking and biking, and a waterfall, it is a perfect place for a family day trip. It also has trails that connect to Cloudland Canyon.

Jack can currently hike about 1 mile at a time. Our goal is to build up his stamina as we add more hikes to our hectic schedule. On Saturday, we chose to do a 3-mile loop. We started on the Middle Trail, making our way to the falls. Then after a snack break we walked back to the car via the North Creek Trail, ending with the Ford Trail.

To keep Jack moving, we allowed him to pick up rocks (which he stored in his pockets), and we found him a sturdy walking stick. The stick kept him focused on the trail and helped him with balance (until he was too tired to walk on his own).

About a mile into our walk, Jack was tired so Daniel carried him the rest of the way. At almost 40 pounds, Jack made the hike more of a workout for Daniel (I was carrying 20-pound Isaac, so we both got a good workout).

The falls were pretty. There are signs everywhere saying not to swim. While we were there, several people did take a dip in the water. Jack didnt understand why he couldnt get in while others were clearly getting wet.

If we go back, I would consider skipping the Middle Trail and taking advantage of the Creek and Ford trails and letting Jack wade in the creek.

There were quite a few people there, but the trails were not crowded. It was so nice to finally be back in the wilderness and spend some quality time together as a family.
